Yoko Ogata

Yoko Ogata is a printmaker and multidisciplinary artist based in Tokyo. Working primarily with monotype, she explores memory, belonging, and the emotional connections between people and place through layered landscapes and botanical forms.
After a career in international brand marketing, she returned to her lifelong passion for art, developing an intuitive practice rooted in experimentation, chance, and storytelling. Flowers and plant life are her constant source of inspiration. She captures fleeting moments within the flurry of life, preserving the delicate flicker of ephemeral beauty in a single fragment of nature and sharing it with her audience.
Monotype allows her to embrace a free and spontaneous approach to printmaking while engaging with the medium's inherent unpredictability. Using Japanese paper and linen and hand-pulled techniques, she creates one-of-a-kind works inspired by the evolving nature of memory and personal experience.
