Ousmane Ba's Dugg Ci Dox (DUGG) Opening Night
Last Friday, KURA Gallery hosted the opening of Ousmane Ba’s exhibition Dugg Ci Dox (DUGG). It was a pleasure to welcome visitors to the gallery and to present such compelling new work, alongside live music performed by Danny Meyer and Topu that evening.
The night unfolded through conversation, new connections, and Ousmane’s captivating works. Influenced by his cultural background and life in Tokyo, his practice captures the movement of the human body, using shape and color to distill moments in time with striking simplicity. Danny Meyer further enriched the works on saxophone and Topu on cello, creating a layered atmosphere where sound and image complemented one another.
Although Ousmane was not able to attend this opening, we are pleased to share that he will be returning to Japan for a second opening event and our upcoming supper club with chef Karyn Zialor, who will be preparing Seychellois dishes in collaboration with his work.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us for the opening, and we look forward to welcoming you again at our upcoming events. You can also stay connected with us through our website, Instagram, or by visiting the gallery.
We'll be posting more about events and the monthly schedule here on our website!
