Artist, designer, and illustrator Hugo Yoshikawa is known for his vibrant linework, drawing inspiration from Franco-Belgian comic book aesthetics. His artwork often features flat, colorful compositions with wonky angles and a slightly surreal, Dali-esque approach to perspective. Themes such as plants, nature, travel, and the joy found in everyday moments are central to his work.
After studying at Camberwell College of Arts in London, Hugo worked for advertising agencies in Madrid and Tokyo before fully dedicating himself to illustration. A move to Barcelona marked a significant shift in his career, transitioning from illustrator to artist. Now based in Tokyo, he works from his own studio, continuing to evolve his artistic practice.
