Yuma McCracken Nishimura

Yura Nishimura was born in 1995. Visual Artist, Photographer, Graphic Designer. He has been creating projects with the idea of leaving one's existence behind for future discovery as the concept. By considering internal and external structures, he elucidates the ideal state of the next level of humankind, where their physical body and consciousness are no longer connected, due to clones, Al, etc. He has received awards and honours such as being a KG+Select 2023 finalist, and receiving an individual jury award from the TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD 2022.
Regarding the influence of the Tokyo as an environment on creation, Yuma personally thinks that he is not greatly affected by it. The trends in Tokyo are very fast. If you are too conscious of them, you will have to throw yourself into trends that may be completely different, even if they're just months apart. In both good and bad aspects, it is necessary to always stay fresh. However, in his own work, he does try to think about universal truths and history, and about values that he believes will remain unchanged in the future and incorporate them into his work. In that respect Yuma tries to keep a bird's eye view on trends.
