【In Between】
Between flowers and insects.
Between the universe and the ocean floor.
Between myself and others.
We often perceive the world as a collection of separate things. Yet between them exist countless invisible flows and relationships. Butterflies and bees visiting flowers, seeds and pollen carried by the wind, leaves receiving light. Through these small interactions, countless worlds exist and come together to create landscapes.
In this exhibition, I explore these landscapes of invisible connections through motifs such as flowers, leaves, butterflies, and stars. They are also landscapes that are constantly changing — always in the midst of becoming.
Something emerges between one work and another, and between the viewer and the work. Perhaps it is within these spaces in between that something exists that connects the world.
In Between is an exhibition about not the boundaries that separate the world, but the things that cross those boundaries and connect us.
At the same time, it reflects my own state of being in transition — somewhere between the past and the future, and between who we are now and what has yet to take shape. It is about the things that connect these spaces in between.
We, too, are always somewhere in between, creating landscapes as we participate in the countless forces and movements that connect one part of the world to another.
